What a regular clean is designed to do
A recurring visit focuses on the everyday work that keeps your home comfortable: dusting accessible surfaces, cleaning kitchens and bathrooms, emptying bins, vacuuming and mopping appropriate floors.
With a fixed amount of time, priorities matter. Tell the team which rooms need the most attention and which can wait. A realistic routine can rotate some less frequent tasks, provided that is agreed with the cleaner.
- A home that is cleaned reasonably often.
- Weekly or fortnightly help with routine tasks.
- A consistent list of priorities for each visit.
When a deeper clean makes more sense
A property that has not had a thorough clean for a while may need more time on grease, dust or limescale before a maintenance routine will work well. A detailed clean can also be useful before guests arrive or after a period when the property has been difficult to maintain.
Deep cleaning does not automatically include every specialist task. Oven interiors, carpets, upholstery, exterior windows and work at height each need to be discussed. The property’s surfaces and condition affect which methods can be used.
- Visible build-up that routine visits are not resolving.
- More time needed around fixtures, edges and agreed interiors.
- A one-off reset before starting regular cleaning.
Is end-of-tenancy cleaning the same thing?
An end-of-tenancy clean is organised around an empty or vacated property and an agreed handover list. It may include cupboard and appliance interiors that are usually occupied during a routine domestic clean.
If you are moving, say so when enquiring. Include whether the property is furnished, when belongings will be removed and when keys must be handed over. These details affect how the work can be scheduled.
How to choose without overbooking
Describe what you see rather than trying to choose a technical label. For example: ‘The bathrooms need descaling and the kitchen cupboard fronts are greasy, but the bedrooms are maintained weekly.’ That gives the team a useful starting point.
Ask for the proposed scope, any exclusions, the time allowed and whether a regular visit can maintain the result afterwards. If you have a fixed budget, agree the most important tasks first. Being specific helps avoid a short routine booking being expected to cover a full-property reset.
